Buying roller pens
Why a roller pen?
A roller pen gives you the weight and warmth of a metal pen with the ease of a refill: no bottles, no drying time, and a dark, wet line that glides across most paper. STEX roller pens take Schmidt refills, which are sold by good stationers around the world.
Changing the refill
Unscrew the barrel, slide the old refill out and drop the new one in, point first. Schmidt refills come in black and blue and in several line widths, so you can make the same pen write finer or bolder.
Roller or fountain pen?
Choose a roller pen if you want a pen that is ready the moment you uncap it, writes on almost any paper and can be lent to anyone. Choose a fountain pen if you enjoy choosing inks and want a line that shows the pressure of your hand. Some STEX shapes, such as the D'magno, come as both, so you can carry a matching pair.
A gift that needs no instructions
A roller pen is the easiest metal pen to give to someone who has never used a fountain pen: no filling, no flushing and no learning curve, with the same hand-finished body and the same weight in the hand. Every STEX pen arrives ready to write.
Shipping and care
Every roller pen ships free with tracking, anywhere in the world, with prices in rupees in India and in US dollars everywhere else. Copper bodies darken with use; wipe with a soft cloth, or polish with lemon and salt and rinse if you want the original shine back. Titanium needs only a wipe.
